Connected Project

Just like GDFB, Electron is an incubator for young talent. Here, you not only see the work of individual designers, but also there initiatives. Worldwide there are designers who involve their colleagues in their special projects. GDFB came by a lot of local and international initiatives in the past two years. Some of them are now given the chance to present their special initiative in Breda.
CONNECTED PROJECT

In the 1960s, American mathematician Edward Lorenz described what became known as the butterfly-effect, in which he posited that a minute change in the atmosphere set off a chain reaction. Starting out with the distribution of a simple poster, Holy Grey expects to cause a similar exponential reaction leading to a tornado at the Graphic Design Festival Breda.

History repeating
This project is a follow-up of the first Connected Project that ran in 2009. In Hollywood a sequel usually means bad acting, cheesy dialogues and even worse visual effects. In contrast, we used our experience of the prequel to improve the script, expand the cast and update the decor.

Me and you and everyone we know
Holy Grey created three posters, each containing GDFB's theme DECODING. They sent these posters to three befriended designers in their network. Now they ask the participants to improve, alter, change etc. the poster they received. Once they have finished, they continue the chain by sending their redesign to two designers who are part of their personal network.

Holy Grey will exhibit the progress of Connected #2 live at Electron Breda. Connected #1 will also be presented, and besides that, there's a chance for every visitor to expanse their network. Holy Grey is a creative collaboration between graphic designers Mariëlle van Genderen, Hanneke Minten and Rob van Leijsen.
