DECODING your city: A ‘City battle’ fought with graphic weapons.
Perhaps you have already heard of Greytones from Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. For four times now, this unique cooperation took place at DDW. But since Greytones is about graphic design, where else would one expect this cooperation?
Every time the configuration of artists working with Greytones is different. For this edition, team captains have been selected in eleven Dutch cities. These captains ‘command’ their city and handpicked their team to take on the battle with the other cities. Expect a cutting edge graphic fight with the hottest topics.
The designers battle to claim their territory. Whether their own city, or even more boldly, the city of their opponents/colleagues. The designers have been invited to decorate the city and ‘win the citizens for them’. The battle has been fought throughout March, making sure the traditional Greytones book is for sale during the festival in May. But, the battle rages on after the book has been printed. At StadsGalerij, the struggle goes forth…
The team captains: Amsterdam - Enchilada, Arnhem - O.K. Parking, Breda - Staynice, Den Bosch - FoURPAcK, Den Haag - Trapped in Suburbia, Eindhoven - Spielerei, Maastricht - B2B, Nijmegen - In opdracht van, Rotterdam - Studio Spass, Tilburg - Kaftwerk, Utrecht - Autobahn. Get ready to rumble!

Saturday 8 May the Greytones expo will be opened. From 17:00 till 21:30 there's a party with 5$ Soundsystem.
